George delivered a fantastic service- I am very pleased. It is clear that George is very experienced and knowledgeable about a range of different pests. His customer service was excellent too. Also went above and beyond and provided advice on sealing vent holes even though this was unrelated to the primary problem. Thank you George.Posted on Google![]()

Pest2Control very helpful, polite on time and reassuring. Needed help with catching squirrel/s in loft space. With 3 visits, cost similar to other pest control groups that quoted. Great team to complete this task. Thank you 😊Posted on Google![]()

An excellent job. Had a mouse issue and George was thorough. One payment but three visits. Each time mice were caught but last time - none. Advice on blocking up the air vents also helpful. They also fitted the one way rat valve in the sewer. Great job.Posted on Google![]()

Croydon is one of London’s biggest boroughs, and the pest problems we see change a lot from one end to the other. The town centre and the streets around East and West Croydon are dominated by flats, many of them in tall blocks and newer developments, where pests travel easily between homes through shared walls, risers and service ducts.
Further south, towards Purley, Coulsdon and Sanderstead, the borough opens out into larger houses with big gardens, close to the green edge of the North Downs. Here the calls are more often about rats in gardens, mice getting in from outside, and squirrels in lofts.
In blocks of flats and shared houses, bed bugs spread through gaps around pipes and cables and on people’s belongings. Treating one flat on its own often isn’t enough, so we look at where they are coming from and advise on neighbouring flats. Our bed bug treatment uses steam and insecticide over three visits.
German cockroaches thrive in the warm kitchens and heated service areas of larger buildings. Once they are established in a block, they need treating properly and consistently. See our cockroach control page for how we deal with them.
Mice move through the voids behind kitchen units, under floors and above ceilings, and they can travel between several flats. Clearing them and sealing the gaps they use, through our rodent proofing service, stops them coming back.
The houses in Purley, Coulsdon, Sanderstead, Selsdon and Shirley tend to have large gardens, mature trees and outbuildings, and many back onto woodland, playing fields or open land. That gives rodents and squirrels plenty of cover, food and places to nest, and the problems we deal with here are different from those in the town centre.
Rats are drawn to compost heaps, bird feeders, sheds and the space under decking. Once they are settled in a garden, it’s usually only a matter of time before one finds a way into the house, often through a damaged air brick or a defect in the drains. Our rat control service tracks them back to where they are living and how they are getting in.
Grey squirrels are common wherever there are mature trees, and branches close to the roof give them an easy route in. Thumping and scratching in the loft early in the morning, chewed fascia boards and shredded insulation are the usual signs. Our squirrel control page explains how we remove them and seal the roof so they stay out.
As the weather cools in autumn, mice move from gardens and fields into houses, looking for warmth and food. Detached and semi-detached homes with suspended floors and older air bricks are particularly easy for them to get into.
The town centre has a huge concentration of restaurants, cafes, takeaways, food markets such as Surrey Street, shops and offices, along with the retail parks and trade units along the Purley Way. Food businesses in particular need to show environmental health officers that pests are being controlled. Our commercial pest control contracts provide regular visits, and we can work early mornings, evenings and weekends to avoid disrupting trade.
With so many rented flats and shared houses in the borough, a lot of our work is with landlords and letting agents. Pests often come to light at the start or end of a tenancy, or when one tenant reports a problem that is affecting the whole building. We explain what caused the problem and what needs doing, so the right person can deal with it, and a new property pest inspection can check a property before new tenants move in.
When you call, I’ll ask what you’ve been seeing, where in the property and for how long, and give you an estimate over the phone. On the first visit, I inspect the property, confirm what the pest is and show you where it’s coming from before any treatment starts. Most treatments are carried out over three visits, so I can check that activity is dropping and adjust the treatment if needed. If there are gaps letting pests in, I’ll show you where they are and how to close them.
Mice and rats are at their busiest indoors from autumn through winter, as they look for warmth. Ants become active in spring, particularly in homes with patios and gardens. Summer brings flies, fleas and the peak time for bed bugs, as people travel and bring them home in luggage. Squirrels are most likely to move into lofts in late winter and again in summer, when they are looking for somewhere to raise their young.
