George delivered a fantastic service- I am very pleased. It is clear that George is very experienced and knowledgeable about a range of different pests. His customer service was excellent too. Also went above and beyond and provided advice on sealing vent holes even though this was unrelated to the primary problem. Thank you George.Posted on Google![]()

Pest2Control very helpful, polite on time and reassuring. Needed help with catching squirrel/s in loft space. With 3 visits, cost similar to other pest control groups that quoted. Great team to complete this task. Thank you 😊Posted on Google![]()

An excellent job. Had a mouse issue and George was thorough. One payment but three visits. Each time mice were caught but last time - none. Advice on blocking up the air vents also helpful. They also fitted the one way rat valve in the sewer. Great job.Posted on Google![]()

The borough has one of the longest stretches of Thames riverside in London, from Deptford Creek round the Peninsula to Woolwich and Thamesmead. The river, the old wharves, the sewers that run beneath them and the railway lines that follow the water all make good territory for brown rats. Homes and businesses close to the river path, and anything with a garden backing onto a railway embankment, tend to see more rat activity than streets further inland.
Much of the riverside has been rebuilt in the last twenty years, and major building work is still going on in places. When old warehouses, drains and ground are opened up, the rats living there are pushed out, and they often turn up in the nearest homes, gardens and bin stores. If you’ve noticed rats soon after work started nearby, that’s usually the reason. Our rat control service finds where they’re coming in and deals with it at the source.
Large new neighbourhoods have gone up on Greenwich Peninsula, around the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich and at Kidbrooke Village. Newer buildings don’t mean no pests. The problems are simply different from those in older housing.
Grey silverfish, which don’t need damp to survive, are increasingly found in newer UK flats and houses. They spread along skirting boards, behind kitchen units and through service ducts, and they often come back after shop-bought treatments. Our silverfish treatment page explains why and how we deal with them.
In large blocks, mice, bed bugs and cockroaches can move between flats through risers, service cupboards and gaps around pipework. Treating one flat on its own often gives only a short break, so we look at where the problem is coming from and work with residents and managing agents to treat the building properly.
In blocks of flats and estates, the bin store is often where a rat problem starts. Overflowing bins, split bags left on the floor and doors that don’t close properly give rats a reliable food supply right next to the building. From there, they burrow into soft ground nearby, move into gaps around drainage pipes and, in the worst cases, find their way into ground-floor flats and communal cupboards. For managing agents and residents’ associations, sorting out the bin store is usually the first step. We treat the activity, show you the burrows and entry points, and advise on changes to the bin area, such as sealing gaps under doors and keeping the floor clear, that stop rats being drawn back.
Around Greenwich Park, the town centre and Blackheath, many homes are Georgian or Victorian, with basements, cellars, suspended timber floors and deep roof spaces. They are beautiful houses, but they are full of routes for mice: gaps around old pipework, worn air bricks, voids behind panelling and floorboards that have been lifted and relaid many times. Mice can live in these spaces for months before anyone sees a dropping.
Clearing them is only half the job. Closing the gaps they use is what stops them returning each winter, and in older properties this needs care so ventilation and original features aren’t damaged. Our rodent proofing service is built around exactly that. Wool carpets, rugs and stored clothing in these homes are also worth checking for moths, particularly in rooms that are rarely used.
Further east, the streets of Charlton, Woolwich and Plumstead are largely Victorian and Edwardian terraces, with shared walls, shared roof spaces and gardens backed onto by other gardens. Mice travel along the terrace from one house to the next, which is why a problem can reappear after a single-house treatment. We check the likely entry points and advise on what neighbours can do, and our mice control page explains the signs to look for.
Greenwich Market, the town centre, the riverside and the venues on the Peninsula draw huge numbers of visitors, supported by restaurants, cafes, bars, takeaways and food stalls. Woolwich has a busy high street and a growing number of restaurants around the Royal Arsenal. Food businesses here face rats from the river and bins, mice in older buildings, and cockroaches and flies in kitchens. Our commercial pest control contracts include regular visits, and we can work before opening, after closing or at weekends.
The borough is greener than many people expect, with Greenwich Park, Charlton Park, Maryon Park and the ancient woodland of Oxleas Wood around Shooters Hill. Homes near these spaces, and any house with mature trees in the garden, can find grey squirrels getting into the loft through gaps at the eaves. Early morning thumping and scratching overhead is the usual first sign. Our squirrel control page covers how we remove them and seal the roof.
We cover Greenwich town centre, Greenwich Peninsula, West Greenwich, Blackheath, Westcombe Park, Charlton, Woolwich, Plumstead, Shooters Hill, Kidbrooke, Abbey Wood and Thamesmead, across the SE2, SE3, SE7, SE10, SE18 and SE28 postcodes. Eltham, also in the borough, has its own page: see pest control in Eltham.
We also cover neighbouring Lewisham and Bromley, along with our home area of Bexley just to the east. See all the areas we cover.
The Thames, the sewers and the railway lines along it give rats water, shelter and easy routes between properties. Building work along the riverside also disturbs them and pushes them into nearby homes and gardens.
Yes. Newer flats commonly have grey silverfish, and mice, bed bugs and cockroaches can move between flats in larger blocks. Gaps around service pipes and cables are common in modern buildings.
Yes. For problems that spread through a building, we work with residents, landlords and managing agents so that affected flats and shared areas can be treated together.
Yes. We choose proofing methods that close the gaps rodents use while keeping ventilation working and avoiding damage to original features. If a building is listed, check with your conservation officer before any changes to the fabric of the building.
