Pest2Control provides rodent control for homes and businesses across Bexley and South London, dealing with mice, rats and squirrels inside and outside the property. Our founder, George Liakopoulos, spent nine years as a technician at Rentokil before starting the company in 2019. Every job starts with an inspection, and every client gets a clear explanation of what we found and how we will fix it.

George delivered a fantastic service- I am very pleased. It is clear that George is very experienced and knowledgeable about a range of different pests. His customer service was excellent too. Also went above and beyond and provided advice on sealing vent holes even though this was unrelated to the primary problem. Thank you George.Posted on Google![]()

Pest2Control very helpful, polite on time and reassuring. Needed help with catching squirrel/s in loft space. With 3 visits, cost similar to other pest control groups that quoted. Great team to complete this task. Thank you 😊Posted on Google![]()

An excellent job. Had a mouse issue and George was thorough. One payment but three visits. Each time mice were caught but last time - none. Advice on blocking up the air vents also helpful. They also fitted the one way rat valve in the sewer. Great job.Posted on Google![]()

The right treatment depends on which rodent you are dealing with, so identifying it is the first step. These are the signs we look for when we inspect a property.
Mouse droppings are small, around the size of a grain of rice, and are usually scattered along skirting boards, inside kitchen cupboards and behind appliances. You may also find gnawed food packaging, notice a stale smell in enclosed spaces, or hear scratching in the walls and ceilings at night. Mice can squeeze through a gap of around 6mm, so a small hole around a pipe is often enough to let them in. Our mice control service covers both the treatment and the entry points.
Rat droppings are much larger, dark and roughly 1 to 2cm long. Other signs include burrows under sheds, decking and compost bins, greasy smear marks where rats brush along walls, gnawed wood or pipework, and heavier scurrying noises under floors or in the loft. In the garden, rats are drawn to spilled bird food and compost heaps. Indoors, they often arrive through a defective drain. Find out more about our rat control treatment.
Grey squirrels are active during the day, so thumping and scratching in the loft early in the morning usually points to squirrels rather than rats or mice, which are mostly active at night. Look for chewed fascia boards, displaced roof tiles and shredded loft insulation used for nesting. Grey squirrels are classed as an invasive non-native species, which limits what can legally be done with them once caught. Our squirrel removal page explains how we deal with them.
Much of the housing across Bexleyheath, Welling, Sidcup and the surrounding boroughs is terraced or semi-detached, built between the early 1900s and the 1930s. Shared loft spaces, cavity walls and suspended timber floors let mice move from one house to the next, so an infestation next door can quickly become your problem too.
Older homes also tend to have older drainage. Rats living in the sewer network can get into a property through a cracked drain, a missing drain cap or a disused pipe under the floor. When rats appear inside a house with no obvious way in, a drain defect is one of the first things we check.
Outside, gardens that back onto railway embankments, allotments, parks or the banks of the River Cray and River Shuttle give rats cover and space to burrow. Food waste, compost heaps and bird feeders do the rest. Activity indoors usually rises in autumn, when colder weather pushes mice and rats inside looking for warmth and food.
Rodents gnaw constantly to keep their teeth worn down, and cables, water pipes and insulation are common targets. Chewed wiring is a fire risk, and damaged pipework can cause leaks that go unnoticed under floors or inside walls.
There is a health risk as well. Rats can carry leptospirosis, the cause of Weil’s disease, and both rats and mice can spread salmonella through droppings and urine on food and worktops. For restaurants, shops and other food businesses, signs of rodents can lead to problems at an environmental health inspection. Mice and rats also breed quickly, so a small problem left for a few weeks usually becomes a larger one that takes longer to treat.
Most rodent treatments are carried out over three visits. We give you an estimate over the phone first, based on what you tell us, and confirm the plan once we have seen the property.
We inspect the property inside and out to find where the rodents are active, where they are nesting and how they are getting in. Before we start, we walk you through what we found and explain the treatment, so you know exactly what is being used and where. Treatment is placed in secure positions matched to the level of activity.
We return to check how much treatment has been taken, look for fresh droppings and signs of movement, and adjust our approach where needed. This visit tells us whether activity is dropping as it should.
On the final visit we confirm the activity has stopped, remove any treatment that is no longer needed, and show you the entry points that need sealing. Clearing an infestation without closing those gaps usually means dealing with another one later.
If rodents found a way in once, others will find it again. Treatment deals with the rodents already in the property, but it does not close the gaps they used. That is the main reason rats and mice return after pest control that stops at baiting.
Rodent proofing is one of our specialist services. We seal entry points with materials rodents cannot chew through, and where rats are coming up from the drains, we identify the defect so it can be put right. Proofing is carried out alongside or straight after treatment and is the most reliable way to stop the problem coming back. Read more about our rodent proofing service.
In rented homes, who deals with rodents usually depends on the cause. Structural problems such as broken drains or gaps in the building fabric generally fall to the landlord, while problems caused by how the property is kept can fall to the tenant. The tenancy agreement is the first place to check. We work with landlords, letting agents and tenants, and we explain what caused the problem so the right person can deal with it.
For businesses, our commercial pest control contracts include regular visits to keep rodents out of kitchens, shops, offices and warehouses. If you are buying a home, a pre-purchase pest inspection can pick up signs of rodents before you complete. We cover Bexley and South London, including Bromley and the surrounding areas.
The price depends on the type of rodent, the size of the property, how established the infestation is and whether proofing is needed. Call us or send a few details through the contact form and we will give you an estimate over the phone.
Most treatments run over three visits. A small mouse problem can clear quickly, while a larger rat infestation linked to drains or an outbuilding can take longer. We will give you a realistic timescale after the first inspection.
They can if the entry points are left open. That is why every treatment ends with proofing advice, and why we recommend rodent proofing once the rodents have gone.
Safety is planned into every treatment. We explain where treatment has been placed and what precautions to take, and we adapt our approach for homes with pets or young children. Just let us know when you book.
In some situations, yes. The best method depends on the rodent, the level of activity and the property, and we will talk you through the options during the inspection.
Not for general use. Since 31 July 2024, setting a glue trap to catch rodents in England has been an offence under the Glue Traps (Offences) Act 2022, unless it is set by a pest controller holding a licence for public health or safety reasons. Those licences do not cover private homes, and if you find a set glue trap, you must make it safe. Scotland and Wales have their own bans.
