George delivered a fantastic service- I am very pleased. It is clear that George is very experienced and knowledgeable about a range of different pests. His customer service was excellent too. Also went above and beyond and provided advice on sealing vent holes even though this was unrelated to the primary problem. Thank you George.Posted on Google![]()

Pest2Control very helpful, polite on time and reassuring. Needed help with catching squirrel/s in loft space. With 3 visits, cost similar to other pest control groups that quoted. Great team to complete this task. Thank you 😊Posted on Google![]()

An excellent job. Had a mouse issue and George was thorough. One payment but three visits. Each time mice were caught but last time - none. Advice on blocking up the air vents also helpful. They also fitted the one way rat valve in the sewer. Great job.Posted on Google![]()

A large part of the borough was built between the wars, including the St Helier estate, the streets around Morden and the semis and terraces of Raynes Park and Motspur Park. These homes are solid and well built, but they have features mice love: suspended timber floors with a void underneath, air bricks along the base of the walls, and coal holes, pantries and old flues that were later bricked up or boxed in, often leaving gaps behind.
Once mice get under the floor, they can reach every room on the ground floor and climb inside the cavity walls to the first floor and loft. In semi-detached and terraced homes, they also travel through shared wall cavities and roof spaces between neighbours. Most problems start in autumn, as mice move in from gardens to get out of the cold. Our mice control page explains the signs to look for.
Air bricks are there to ventilate the space under the floor, but cracked, missing or plastic grilles with large holes let mice walk straight in. They need replacing or proofing in a way that keeps the ventilation working, because blocking them can cause damp and rot in the floor timbers. Our rodent proofing service deals with them properly.
Kitchens are usually where mice are first noticed. The space behind the kickboards under the units often connects straight to the floor void through gaps around pipes and waste outlets, and it’s warm, dark and close to food. We check here on every inspection.
The River Wandle runs through the east of the borough, past Merton Abbey Mills, Colliers Wood, Morden Hall Park and Wandle Park, with the Pyl Brook and Beverley Brook further west. Rivers and brooks, their banks and the green corridors alongside them give rats water, shelter and easy routes. So do the railway and tram lines that cross the borough. Gardens that back onto any of these see more rat activity than streets further away.
Rats usually start outside, under sheds, decking and compost bins, then look for a way in through damaged air bricks, gaps around pipes or defects in the drains. Our rat control service finds where they’re living and how they’re getting into the house, rather than just putting bait down.
Gardens near water attract rats more than most, so a few changes go a long way. Use bird feeders with trays to catch spilled seed, keep compost in closed bins on a solid base, store pet food and chicken feed in metal containers, and clear the space under sheds and decking where rats like to nest. We’ll point out anything specific to your garden during the inspection.
Morden Hall Park, Morden Park, Cannizaro Park and the many tree-lined streets around Raynes Park and Wimbledon Chase give grey squirrels plenty of habitat. They get into lofts through gaps at the eaves, under loose tiles and around old fascia boards, often by jumping from overhanging branches. Thumping overhead at dawn is the giveaway. Our squirrel control page explains how we remove them and seal the roof so they can’t get back in.
The borough has a lot of commercial space, including the retail parks around Merton Abbey and Colliers Wood, the shops and cafes of Morden town centre, and industrial estates and trade units along the Wandle valley and near the A24 and A3. Warehouses, loading bays and food outlets face rats and mice coming in with deliveries or from the surrounding land, and food businesses need to show environmental health officers that pests are under control. Our commercial pest control contracts include regular visits arranged around your opening hours.
The borough’s suburban streets have plenty of gardens and patios, and from spring onwards black garden ants nest under paving and along the edges of the house, then find their way into kitchens. Flying ants can appear in large numbers on warm summer days. Treating the nest, rather than the trail, is what stops them. Our ant control page explains how we find and deal with the nest.
The borough has plenty of rented homes and a steady flow of people moving in and out. Two problems we see after a move are bed bugs brought in with second-hand furniture or left behind by previous occupants, and fleas hatching from carpets in a home where the last owners had pets. Flea pupae can wait in the carpet for weeks, so it’s common for bites to start a few days after moving in. Our flea treatment and bed bug treatment pages explain the signs and how we treat them.
We cover Morden, St Helier, Colliers Wood, South Wimbledon, Merton Park, Raynes Park, Motspur Park, Wimbledon Chase and the borough’s industrial and retail areas, across the SM4, SW19 and SW20 postcodes. Wimbledon and Mitcham, both also in the borough, have their own pages: see pest control in Wimbledon and pest control in Mitcham.
We also cover neighbouring Sutton, Kingston upon Thames and Croydon. See all the areas we cover.
Usually because the gaps they used last year were never closed. Air bricks, gaps around pipes and spaces under kitchen units are the most common routes. Proofing them after treatment stops the yearly cycle.
No. Air bricks ventilate the space under the floor, and blocking them can lead to damp and rot. They should be replaced or covered with a mesh that keeps mice out while letting air through.
They can if there’s a way in. Rats living along rivers and brooks often move into nearby gardens, then into houses through damaged air bricks, gaps around pipes or drain defects.
